A Careless Driver

Situation  :  A careless driver ran through a red light on a highway.  A highway policeman

                        saw him and stopped his car to talk to him.

Policeman  :  Just where do you think you’re going, mister ?

Driver         :              1          

Policeman  :  You ran through a red light.

Driver         :              2          .

Policeman  :  The light almost hit you on the nose as you went by.

Driver         :              3          .

Policeman  :  Try to be more careful ?  Mister, I’ve followed you for the last ten minutes, and you’ve

                        run through six red lights.

Driver         :              4          .

Policeman  :  There isn’t any room for daydreaming on the highway, mister.

Driver         :              5          

Policeman  :  You’re dam right it won’t.  You’re going to jail right now.

Driver         :             6          .

Policeman  :  I’ve got a wife and seven kids.  Do you have any other sad stories before you go to jail ?

Driver         :  Oh, you’re so cruel, officer.  May I have a ticket instead ?

6. (a) But, officer, I’m very busy today and have to go for a meeting now    (แต่  คุณตำรวจ  ผมมีธุระ

           ยุ่งมากวันนี้  และจำเป็นต้องไปร่วมประชุมตอนนี้เลย)

    (b) Are you married, officer ?  I think your wife must be proud of you    (คุณแต่งงานหรือยังครับ

    (c) I believe you’ve a big family to support.  I hope they’re in good shape    (ผมเชื่อว่าคุณมีครอบ

           ครัวใหญ่ที่ต้องเลี้ยงดู  ผมหวังว่าพวกเขาคงมีสุขภาพดีนะครับ)

    (d) But, officer, I’ve got a wife and three kids to support    (แต่  คุณตำรวจครับ  ผมมีเมียกับ

(คำแปล)

คนขับรถประมาท

สถานการณ์  :  นักขับรถประมาทผู้หนึ่งขับฝ่าไฟแดงบนทางหลวง  ตำรวจทางหลวงเห็นเข้าจึงหยุด

                            รถของเขาเพื่อพูดคุยด้วย

ตำรวจ      :  นั่นคุณคิดว่าคุณกำลังจะไปไหน

คนขับรถ  :                ๑            

ตำรวจ      :  คุณขับรถฝ่าไฟแดงน่ะสิ (You ran through a red light.)

คนขับรถ  :                ๒            

ตำรวจ      :  ไฟ (แดง) เกือบจะชนจมูกคุณอยู่แล้ว  ตอนที่คุณขับผ่านไปน่ะ (The light almost hit

                      you on the nose as you went by.)

คนขับรถ  :                ๓            

ตำรวจ      :  พยายามระวังมากขึ้นหรือ,  คุณครับ  ผมขับรถตามคุณมาตลอดสิบนาทีที่ผ่านมา  และ

                      คุณขับฝ่าไฟแดงถึง ๖ ครั้งนะ (you’ve run through six red lights)

คนขับรถ  :                ๔            

ตำรวจ      :  ไม่มีที่ว่างสำหรับฝันกลางวันบนถนนหลวงหรอกคุณ

คนขับรถ  :                ๕            

ตำรวจ      :  คุณพูดถูกเผงเลยนะว่ามันจะไม่เกิดขึ้นอีก (You’re dam right it won’t),  (เพราะ) คุณ

                     ต้องไปห้องขังเดี๋ยวนี้เลย

คนขับรถ  :                ๖             

ตำรวจ      :  ผมมีเมียกับลูกอีก ๗ คนนะ,  คุณมีเรื่องเศร้าอื่นๆ ที่จะเล่าอีกไหมก่อนจะไปห้องขัง

คนขับรถ  :  โอ้  คุณช่างใจร้ายเหลือเกินนะ  คุณตำรวจ,  ผมขอเปลี่ยนเป็นใบสั่งแทนได้ไหมครับ
